The newly elected international chairperson Aurora Dellstig from Gothenburg and her mother Eva Lycke, deputy international chairperson, came along with her husband Per. Elisha Fisher also traveled from Glasgow. They all have a long-standing friendship with the Steiner family from Neustadt.
The Swedish Lycke/Dellstig family has been involved in the international Operation Friendship association for over 40 years, with groups in the USA, Sweden, Scotland and France, among others. Gerhard Steiner has also been active for OF in the district since 1977 and finally founded the non-profit association Operation Friendship Bayern e.V. in 2013. His son Felix replaced him as the new Chairman in 2017. He now also serves as International Secretary. Elisha Fisher from Scotland visited the district several times as a young person in the 1980s and founded an OF group in Glasgow and the surrounding area herself a few years ago. Young people from this group will be coming to the district of Neustad again this year during the major vacations.
