The ”Young adults exchange” 2017 took place in Gothenburg, Sweden. Seven young adults from three different countries came to Sweden, where they stayed for the ten day program.
The program consisted of different activities such as teambuilding, sightseeing, boat tours, visiting the very beautiful province of Bohuslän and a traditional Swedish “midsommar” (midsummer) celebration. The guests got to experience history, culture, foods and celebrations that are typically Swedish. “It was a lot of fun to be able to show them our country and various traditions of ours.” said one of the hosts.
All the guests and hosts were fascinated by the fact that they got so close so fast. “It feels like we’ve known each other for a very long time. I can’t believe that its’s only been ten days” said another Swedish hosts. Another participant added “I can’t put into words how amazing it has been to spend time with so many open-minded, curious, amazingly kind and lovely people and helping organizing their stay.”
“The concept of OF and bringing people from different places together is one of the greatest experiences of my life, and I was so happy to get the opportunity to once again be a part of an Operation friendship exchange.” said one of the Swedish hosts. Many of the participants from this year’s exchange hope to be able to travel next year!
